Just bleached and in need of a hair cut - the usual state of Adam's hair prior to an Adventure. I can't complain. I hate bleaching hair and that's been more than thoroughly covered in previous Adventures. So before colouring I give Adam's hair a trim to get rid of the fried ends and try to fix the £5 hair cut he'd had recently.
It's been a while since Adam had any noticeable amount of orange hair (nearly 4 years in fact!) so I thought it was high time he had something orange. So I thought, what would be an interesting combination with orange? Aha! Purple! I just happened to have some spare Directions Plum lying around.
Products used:
LaRiche Directions Plum, Fluorescent Glow, & Tangerine.

I wanted to make something really neon so I mixed Directions Tangerine with Fluorescent Glow. I only used a small amount of Tangerine so as not to darken the yellow too much. On reflection, it could probably have taken a bit more orange but orange is a tricky colour to mix and often looks darker in the tub than the finished colour.
I started by painting on lines of the Fluorescent Glow/Tangerine mix radiating from his crown. Adam tends to wear his hair as it falls and wanted something that would look ok with his rolled out of bed look. For this reason I painted the colour on in the direction his hair naturally sits so the effect would come through with minimal styling.

The Plum was painted on in the gaps between orange stripes leaving a small amount of uncoloured hair. Finally using a clean tint brush I blended the colours together to fill the gaps.
To style I used a small amount of fibre putty on my finger tips and roughly worked it into the roots. Using a tiny bit more on my finger tips I pulled out small strands of hair to add definition.
