Hair Gone Green

Q:My hair has gone green, how can I fix it?

A:This usually happens when someone has light hair and they try to dye it brown. This happens because some brown dyes are green based. To counteract this you should have used a reddish toner (green+red=brown) and then applied the brown dye. Anyway, what you need to do now is try one of the following: Try using a red based toner on your hair to counteract the green Re-dye it brown Forget brown and bleach it back to blonde (only if your hair is strong enough). I recommend you do a strand test before you try any of these and it's usually best to have a professional do colour correction. Hair sometimes goes green due to chlorinated water. To avoid this make sure your hair has been washed a few times after colouring before you go swimming. There are also shampoos which can fix this and are available at beauty supply shops.
