So, as we all know in the crazy hair color community, the color doesn't last as long as we want. This article is going to tell you how to keep your color looking fresh, even up to a month after dyeing.
Second rule:
WASH YOUR HAIR WITH COOL WATER
I bet this one will surprise you. Washing with cool water will not only help protect against color wash-out, but it's also better for your hair and promotes a healthy shine. This doesn't mean that you have to take cold showers, this just means that whenever you need to wash your hair, you need to turn down the temp when the water is on your hair. Anyhoo, this is really one of the major aids in keeping your hair color looking its best as you will cut down the color wash-out by about 50%.
Third rule:
USE PRODUCTS FOR COLOR TREATED HAIR
You'd be surprised at how much color you wash away by using your normal shampoos. Thats because your typical shampoo focuses on overly cleansing your hair and hence stripping it of color. Using hair products made for color treated hair will really help you fight fading as they normally protect against stripping and fading from sun exposure. I personally use Paul Mitchell's shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair. This stuff works great, but there are many other cheaper options if you don't want to spend a lot.
And there you have it. Three easy rules for keeping your color. Enjoy!
