Forum Index >>General Questions >>Dark Brown->orange-.What colour now?
Basically my hair is a dark-med brown its is curly and very thick. I have bleached it (was attempting platinuim blonde/white). First lot of dye turned it copper colour, waiting 48 hrs i dyed again now its blonde with a golden hue to it (sse pics.) Should i dye it again or use a toner to try and get the desired colour i was after (if poss.)?
Or now i was thinking maybe i could put a vibrant colour straight on instead like a red? Would that work or would i end up with a strange tint?
Thanks in advance for any and all help.x

Welcome to the forums.
You'd be ok to do a red over the top of that I think. It will be a bit darker than the swatch but should work ok.
If you want to change your colour later you'll be somewhat limited in that only warm colours will look good. If you stick blue over that it's going to look muddy.
It sounds to me like perhaps you're using a high-lift blonde dye rather than bleach, is this right?
Your hair looks pretty light so I think a 20 volume bleach should work really well for you, if you want to give it another shot. Something like B Blonde for Medium/Light hair would be what you're looking for (you can get that in Boots and Superdrug). The guys' version and the 30 volume, or Medium/Dark hair, bleach kit are the same inside. This will be ok for your hair but it will process quickly -maybe too quickly and is a bit overkill for hair that's already so light.
Tip: Check inside the box for powder and peroxide as they sell them in separates too and the boxes are almost identical.

Yeah you are correct i didnt want to use to strong a bleach kit didnt know how much damage i`d do so went for something that would be more progressive and not so harsh {even if it means dodgy hair for couple days, lol}.
Ok seems i have a decision to make stick with the original plan or change direction and go for a red, any particular brand you`d reccommend for a red?, do they vary in ammount of time before fading, etc?
Thanks.
