I wouldn't call my hair too unhealthy, but others disagree.

I've only bleached it three times, and right now I'm mostly at my natural color. It's supremely boring.

I want to dye it Enchanted Forest green by manic panic, and here's my question: I have pretty light hair naturally, and right now I have some teal in the front. It's quite dark, and I didn't bleach first, and it's held up pretty well

But it keeps fading at the roots, because that's hair that I've never bleached.

So, if I dye my hair all green, should I bleach first? And if I do, is there something intensive I can do to keep my hair healthy?

I'll just sandwich all my questions in here, I guess. I need a haircut. Suggestions? I'm trying to grow it chin length, but as usual, I can never stick to a decision.

Danke,
Dam'

well although you said you dyed it teal without bleaching it you said that it fades at your roots because of this i would siggest maybe using a clarifying shampoo to lighten up the teal and then perhaps just bleaching your roots if youve bleached it three times but the teal is not covering bleached hair then what has been bleached? im kind of confused by how your hair is now in your pic you have quite allot of teal and ive used enchanted forest and its a very deep teal green so i dont think covering the teal will be a problem but i cant see it comeing out that way on you roots because it hasnt been bleached? so i would suggest lightening all your natural hair. i used a leave in conditioner from dr miracle it works pretty well and perhaps just a teany trim if your unhappy with your ends after bleaching your natural (not the teal because it only needsa deep wash)

Had you dyed your hair dark and that's why you've bleached it 3 times to lighten it?
How do the roots compare to the bleached hair in colour?

Your unbleached hair isn't taking the colour because it's not as porous as the bleached hair. I'd suggest a short bleaching of your roots (depending on how able to you are to match it to the rest of your hair) and then redyeing. If you can get some of the green out first through washing it would be better so that the roots don't turn out a lot lighter because they've only been dyed once.

As for the cut, how about going for something a bit choppier and trying out a few different partings? I think you'd suit a long fringe.
