How many times haven't you heard people asking "hey, did you dye your hair?"

It's so annoying. It's obvious I dyed my hair >_>

Familiar with it? Whats your usual clever answer? :D

to dye for :D

As soon as I saw the topic title, that's EXACTLY the question I thought XD

Usually I'll just say no in a serious tone. So then people get all confused haha

Ha, I was thinking about that too lately.

If they ask me "Hey did you dye your hair pink/purple" again I'll tell them, no I just dyed my roots brown.

Last week a guy on a motorcycle asked me what I used to colour my hair while he was driving past. I wonder if he expected me to explain in the 2 seconds it took him to drive by me. I just told him I use watercolour. >_>

PS. I don't know if it happens to you too, but most people that ask me if I've dyed my hair can't take my word for it and take their permission (obviously mine isn't needed) and start tugging and stroking my hair to see that it's real dyed hair. I've had people I've seen a couple of times and even junkies and beggars do that. >_>

I think I've told this story before but when I used to work in a nightclub my hair was mostly black with a big chunk of blue (this was about 10 years ago).
Some guy asked "What happened your hair?", a common question at the time. I decided I would make him feel bad and say it was a birthmark, like a port wine stain but a blue one that caused my hair to grow blue. I said I was sensitive about it and didn't really like talking about it. He was too drunk to realise I was having him on and felt guilty

So I say next time that happens to you indulge in some creative lying!

I'm well known at school for my hair but one of the women always feels that she has the right to tell me what colors I've used that she feels make me look awful and then expects me to be grateful for the motherly advice. So after probably 6 months of this, commenting every time i change my color, she decides she'll let her daughter dye her tips pink. The real kicker though is she expects me to walk her through how to do it, why to do it and everything else she can think of about dying hair.

A little off topic but there is my annoying thing of late. As to the comment of wow did you dye your hair I usually tell people that it was a freak lab accident but that once the fire was out they forgave me. The looks of confuse are so worth it!

Color makes you beautiful, so taste the rainbow.

    Haha
    Ask a stupid question...

Actually, what I find more annoying than some of these questions is "Will you dye my hair?" NO!
Why do people assume I want to do their hair for free during my very precious free time? I've had people try to befriend me because they were told I only do hair for friends. I've taken to just saying "no" flat out but even then they can't take no for an answer. *end of rant*

I once had a guy harassing me online (yes, I know I could just block him) to color his hair. My picture on my profile had me with pink hair, and he kept trying to get me to color his hair pink, too. I basically explained to him that he could very well do it himself, and then he was like, "Yeah, my friends said you wouldn't do it". Duh. I'm going to go meet a total stranger to do their hair, just because mine is that way? I don't think so.

I remember years ago I colored my hair from a darker blonde to a very light blonde and an airheaded friend of mine asked me if I'd gotten a perm (I had straight hair!).

Some guy must've gotten my e-mail from my forum profile because he added me to MSN and asked me nothing but questions about dying hair.
I didn't mind answering but that was the only thing he'd ever talk about, and after I helped him out he just disappeared.
    Yeah...I'm not doing that anymore.
Don't add me to MSN unless you actually want to talk to me.
But I think the thing that bothered me most is that I didn't even get a thank you.
As for the 'did you dye your hair' question, I hate it too.
Especially when I've had the colour for months, or when it's a colour that is obviously different from my previous one.

Yeah that's why email addresses are hidden now (though mods can still see them in profiles)... that and spam.
I think I know who you're talking about Hopeless as a certain someone who used to post here got mine, Tony's and Adam's email addresses and asked lots of hair questions on MSN. That was a few years ago though.
    Hurray for the block button.

Another question I get is "Is your hair real". I don't understand why they feel they need to ask such a question, since my hair most certainly doesn't look fake. Wigs don't have brown roots after all. :p

I have a girl asking me on facebook how I dye my hair and what dyes I use. I wonder if she'll stop talking to me when she learns how to do it.
