Was it a .bmp file?
Those are way too big so that's probably why it was removed.
Try sticking to a .jpg file.
If you open up the file in Paint you can save a .bmp as a .jpg instead.

Don't bother saving anything as a JPG in paint, it looks like poodie. Save as a PNG instead. Smaller than a BMP, bigger than a JPG.

No animated gifs /swf. PNGs or JPGs are best.
