As we all know, a good hair day starts with the basics, good shampoo and conditioner. As I have very thick coarse hair, which is over-dyed and over-straightened, I usually go for more expensive hair products to try to make up for all the abuse I put it through. Today however I was in the hair care isle in the supermarket when I noticed something I hadn’t seen before, Personal Care shampoo and conditioner for super straight hair with vitamin E and mandarin orange. The packaging looked a little on the budget brand side and it was only $3, but it made promices of naturally shiny hair with all day frizz controll. So, naturally, I opened the lid and took a whiff. Oh my GOSH! It smelt amazing. I don’t know about you guys but I LOVE mandarin scented stuff. It smelt like that yummy mandarin/tangerine soap from the body shop, yum yum yum! When I say $3, that’s Barbados money, so that would be about $1.50 American or about 75p, cheap as chips! So even if it turned out to be crap, I could still use the shampoo for body wash and use the conditioner to shave my legs because it smelt so good. So I bought it.
The shampoo was a bit weird and gelatinous and didn’t really foam up that well, but I use a lot of frizz buster (a silicone based serum) which is rather hard to cut through, so I had to rinse and repeat, and it foamed up nicely the second time leaving my hair squeaky clean. The conditioner was nice and thick, which was good, and spread through my hair easily. I had to use a little more than I usually would of my regular conditioner but nothing major. I left it on for about 2 minutes and the rinsed and my hair felt SO SOFT! Like wow soft, wasn’t expecting it to feel that good. I would even go as far as to say it felt better than when I use Pantene or herbal essences.
Instead of blow-drying I opted to let it air dry. Due to having uber wavy hair, with a few loose curls going on, I didn’t expect much in the way of the promise for super straightness, but it was soft and shiny, and quite smooth upon drying. Not frizzy, but it had quite a bit of volume (as usual) After a go with the good old GHD's, my hair is all smooth and silky, with no static, yey! usually i get a bit of static, but not today. I would like to contribute that to the shampoo but im realy not sure. Anyway I am well pleased, and anyone who sees this shampoo and conditioner in the supermarket, stock up! It is great, a must buy!

Hey lads, I think I feel a bit whoosy. (war of the buttons)

I wonder if it's just one of those generic rip-offs of Herbal Essences that can only be found locally.
For instance, Herbal Answer is pretty common where I live.
That's awesome about finding good stuff for such a great deal though!
