If I dyed my hair with schwarzkoppf live cosmic blue, would I get a brighter, true blue if I put something like blue mayhem over the top instead of the blue-black sheen?

Is the Live dye a two parter? Like do you dye it black and then add a blue over the top?
My experience with boxed unnatural colours is that they don't last as well as the tried and tested ones like Special Effects. However, if it comes with it you can always try it and when the blue sheen fades put some blue mayhem over the top to bring back the blue. Results will be subtle though.

I'm not sure how the dye actually works, but the picture on the box definitely looks just black with a blue sheen. I didn't fancy bleaching again for how badly my hair hold sfxwildflower and how I hated being blond, so I was wondering if there was any other way to get to a good blue.

Ah, I'd say it's just a permanent black with a lot of blue concentrate in it (the blue won't be permanent).

What's your current colour? Blue Velvet holds very well in most hair types and is a very deep navy blue colour. It lasts for ages too so would that be an option?

A natural dark brown verging on black, all the blond has been cut out now, so I'd guess that Blue Velvet would do the same black with blue sheen.
