I just bleached my roots a few hours ago (actually my boyfriend did most of the work ), but anyway, I left it on for like an hour to get it to a yellow-blonde (using 30 volume) and then washed it out. I shampooed my hair twice, taking care to scrub my scalp so that no bleach is left on it.

But now, I still feel some itches at times. Is this normal? I checked some parts that itch and my scalp seems to be its normal colour and I'm pretty sure (or at least hope so) that after 2 washes all the bleach must have left my hair. At least there didn't seem to be any bleach visible when I looked.

Is it just a normal feeling after bleaching? Maybe my scalp is just sensitive and dry after what it's been through? I have some slight itching at other places of my body that got washed a lot today (like my face and hands), so maybe that's it?

I'm just wondering if that has happened to anyone, as it's my first time not having a professional around when I did my roots and I'm a bit scared of having done something wrong. :p

Mine will sometimes itch or even slightly burn a bit. You should be okay, but if it becomes a problem, I'd go see a doctor. Usually it only itches a little bit for the first day or so.

Well, bleach is harsh stuff as we all know. And seeing as you scrubbed your scalp twice afterwards, it's not especially strange if it is a bit dry and itches :) It will pass.

I bleached my hair twice a few days ago and I felt like I had a mild sunburn afterwards.
It definitely itched which was annoying.
If it doesn't go away after a couple of days or gets worse I'd see a doctor.

It's a little less today, but when I went out in the sun and at about 30 degrees celcius, it started again a bit, like the sweat was making it sting/itch. My sister kinda scared me a bit saying that usually when your head itches it means you're losing hair. I haven't lost more than usual till now, so I hope that means that's not the case.O_o

I want to dye my hair today, cause honestly the blonde looks plain disgusting on me.:S I hope those veggie dyes won't affect my scalp much?

I'm beginning to think it might also be a nervous thing... You know, when you get an itch and then you start thinking about it and start itching more and more. Cause I have the feeling that when I'm not thinking about it, it lessens.

Veggie dies aren't harsh, they actually condition your hair a bit. They shouldn't affect your scalp at all.

Ahem, change of plans: my friend who specializes in hair dying told me that it was probably my shampoo, since I didn't have any itching during the bleach process. I used just my regular shampoo, Head & Shoulders for oily hair, which is a bit too harsh, but *cough* I didn't think about that at all. So, now my scalp must be a bit dry, especially after washing it so much.

So anyway, I put loads of conditioner on my scalp and it appears to be feeling better.

I know this is a bit of a late reply but I just wanted to add that that always happened me when I bleached my roots. I think it was my scalp had got dried out so felt a bit tight causing the itching. I found conditioner helped moisturise it too

Good to hear I'm not the only one who gets that. The conditioner did help a lot. I left it on for about 2-3 hours each day and yesterday I dyed my hair, which I think may have helped moisturize it more, because today my scalp feels almost normal again.
