Hey guys
I have quite thick hair and looking for a product that will firmly hold my hair in a messy , matte look. I want my fringe to be down over one side , and back and top of hair spiky and messy.
What kind of product should i use? I've tried manipulator and its not strong enough.
Could anyone tell me a particular product or product type , eg pomade , putty etc?
Thanks

ummm
I'd go with water based wax.
I actually love that stuff.
It's like a wax that turns into a gel type thing from the heat from your hands, and its water based so if you don't like it it just comes out with water.

Garnier Fructis makes a nice one.

Got2B Glued Spiking Glue is pretty decent stuff.
I've used it many times in the past.
Also, if you have a question it's best to just post once in the appropiate section rather than post multiple times in several sections.
One of us will get back to you as soon as possible, I promise.

Pomades tend to make the hair look shiny though.
I also find them to be really greasy and heavy.

I like using clay, you just scrub your hair together and they become messy and you can define the ends too. Plus I like it because you only need a tiny amount to get a nice messy look and it's matte. Don't know how clays sold in beauty supply stores are, though, I got mine from a salon. The one I have almost looks like natural clay, but the ones I've seen in beauty supply stores look more like a thick cream and I don't know if they're as strong/matte.

Pomade really only looks good on short, short hair, and it's definitely not matte.

I'd say a putty or a wax for making a mess of your hair without looking like you were trying to.
