OK, have been thinking all morning, and have come up with an idea but I cant really decide whether its going to turn out alright or not. I think it could end up just looking a complete mess. (My hair is all over cyclamen pink just now.) I was thinking about tying the top half of my hair up in a bobble and adding black to the ends, then putting the bottom half in a bobble and adding black to the ends of that, but not in a straight line or anything, just using my hands to scrunch it into the ends of my hair. Was thinking then my hair would turn out with the bottom layer having black tips as well as the layer on top having black tips if you get what i mean? Im just not sure whether its going to turn out a complete mess or not. Dont know if I have had a good idea, or I'm just very hungover. haha I just dont want to do it and it turns out a total state, Ive had enough crazy colour hair disasters over the past ten years. haha.

If I dont plan on doing this, think I will just do the bottom layer with black.

ok thanks everyone.

The only thing I'd worry about would be the color bleeding or not saturating the hair enough. I've thought about black & color a lot, too. I always chicken out because black is so PERMANENT and a hell of a lot of upkeep! I had all black hair at one time and it faded like crazy.

I think the idea is cool, though. Do you have anyone who could help to apply the color and make sure the hair is saturated with it? Were you planning on using permanent or semi perm black?

By the way, I *LOVE* the color you have now. Beautiful (and a cool tattoo)!!!

hey thanks for reply. Well I am not too fussed about keeping the black if it fades. Would quite like it to fade and then dye pink over the top again hoping it would look like two tones of pink.

I used permanent black and just kirby gripped back my hair in my fringe and left the areas free where i wanted black, then took the rest of my hair to the front in two sections and just added the black randomly anywhere at the bottom. Wanted it to look messy rather then total neat. My hair is really thin so there wasnt much to colour. I really like it anyway so Im glad. will get pics up asap.

cheers about tattoo. Was worse to get than the first one. Really sore, or maybe Im just a baby.lol
