So I have over 3/4 of a bottle of SFX Pimpin' purple left over from my last dye job and I wanted to dye my hair.
I do want to get it professionally done tho, but I want to bring my old purple dye, and possibly a new color also so my hair has two colors in it.

first of all, do most places allow this?

and second of all, what goes with purple and brown?
becasue I only wanted to do liek big chuncky streas and such.
I want something that will be vibrant and bright, yet I dont want pink because purple and pink are too girly together and thats not me.
Suggestions?

EDIT: oh yeah, I only have acess to SFX or that brand thats now in HotTopic.
But I heard that that brand isnt too yummy.

I think Blue Mayhem would look great with Pimpin' Purple.

Cherry Bomb would look good as would Fishbowl. Really there's not a lot that doesn't go with Pimpin' Purple. Did you have any preference other than not pink?

I agree with Jude, most colours would look good with pimpin purple. Blue, red, green, turquoise, even yellow would look good in my opinion, for opposing colours.

I think some dark blue or green would look nice. I've been thinking about Sonic Green a lot since others on the board brought it up. It is a really unusual color.

As for whether salons allow you to bring your own color...some may, others may not...I'd talk to someone beforehand and ask if they'd do it. If not, you may have to go someplace else. Is there any salon that's a bit "alternative" in your area. We have a couple in town here and they'd be where I'd try first. You never do know, though. I've had some pretty conservative looking people be fine with doing wacky cuts & the like.

I used to go to a very girly salon (it was called Oh La La and everything was fluffy, pink & French). The owner loved my wild hair. She did hair for the entire boys swim team for the local high school in Manic Panic.

The first time I dyed my whole head an unnatural colour I went to the salon one of my best friends used to work. She did my hair with their bleach and then used my dyes (SFX Pimpin' Purple and Blue Mayhem, they looked very good together). And then when I went to pay the (obnoxious) manager saw me and asked why I was paying so little (probably because it looked great and they hadn't seen such colours before he thought they should have charged me way more), but thankfully my friend came to the rescue and explained I had brought the dyes myself and she had just bleached and applied, so they shouldn't charge me more.

But, anyway, you should ask how much they'll charge if you bring the dyes yourself. It should be less.

I'd go with yellow. I like that contrast with purple and brown. Its a nice pop.

I was actually thinking limelight, because I'm absolutely in love with neon green.
but seeing pictures of it over the internet it seems to either come out really really good like a bright neon, or really crappy with like a muddy green. So I'm a little iffy about risking it.

And I also thought of yellow or red, but I don't really rock yellow too well.

I was looking for someting lighter so you could definately tell the difference between the two.

Oh and I talked to my friend that recoomended the place, they only use thier own dyes, so Im probably going to ask if they can definately do a neon green and a purple, otherwise I'm finding somewhere else.
I need thier brown dye anyway, because the underneath of my hair is so bleached that theres too much to cover up with unnatural color.

Try Iguana Green, after a few washes it supposedly achieves the same shade as limelight without progressing to the mucus yellow too fast.
If you want a neon glow combine it with Manic Panic Electric Lizard, which has a UV glow. It will fade out fast but I think they might sell an amplified formula which prolongs dye fading by at least a few weeks.
Also there was someone on the forums dating back awhile that had this fantastic purple/turquoisey-green/black combo. It looked like fishbowl mixed with limelight and a pimpin-purple kind of color. Take a look:
