...and getting my hair dyed all (okay mostly) black...

Okay thanks to all your good advice i got a lovely turquoise hair dye, with black in the back (you can't see it in the pic) and i love it to death. it was a much deeper blue, but apperantly chlorine really turns blue hair more green. so anyway, i'm keeping it for a couple of months, but because i love planning ahead, and if i don't ask it will irk me to the end of eternity, i was wondering if i got all black with a couple bits of other color mixed in (possible lowlights) or just all black, will my face look washed out and weird, or will i just look paler but fine? i've gotten mixed responses from my friends and family, so i thought i'd ask here.

I think you'd look fine with darker hair+ highlights, I mean the colour you have now looks pretty dark already. If you're worried about looking too pale/ washed out, personally, I think your dark blue eyes would help balance out your dark hair anyways! And lovely looking haircut in the 2nd picture, I'd say go for it! Are you going to dye it that red too? Or just the style, with black hair?

Thank you! =) Yeah I was really worried about that, but I'm glad you think it would look alright. I'm just going to get that hairstyle, leave it the color it is now, then after this gets too faded or i get bored with it, I'll dye it again. I'm not quite sure as to the color, though. I'd love to try it with that orangy red color, but I'd like it with black, too. Since my hair already has black in it, I'll probably do black next, though it would be a lot more trouble getting all of my hair bleached again than it would now...What do you think?

I think it will look ok but be prepared to keep topping up the colour. Black really doesn't hold too well on bleached hair and it has a kind of translucent quality like it looks dark but if you hold it up to the light you can see through. Chlorine is likely to strip the colour.

I agree with Squawgrrrl, I used to have a friend who looked a little bit like you, and she had that same haircut except hawked on top. It was really cute, and she would do fun stuff like put stripes down her bangs. You might also try spiking the back out if you get the cut.

On the color front, maybe black with some chunks of color in the front? I dunno what your tastes are but a warm color like a red, orange or intense pink make for a really good contrast with black.
