Hi, I took the plunge and died the under neath of my hair atomic pink . I bleached it quite light so it is very vibrant as the colour grabbed a little too well.. However it too vibrant.

I didnt dilute the dye with condition which I probably should have done. I am currently washing it tons with crappy anti-dandruff shampoo to get it washed out as much as possible.

Is there anyway to dye it cupcake or do I have to wait a while for it to wash out?

Perhaps putting a lighter shade of pink on the bright will make it a medium tone?

Bleaching is not an option =)

thanks guys! I will try to get a picture up soon!

UPDATE- just seen cotton candy pink by manic panic... would anyone reccomend adding this colour to atomic?

If you put Cupcake/Cotton Candy Pink on top of Atomic Pink you're not going to get much. Atomic Pink is darker than those other pinks. Since those dyes are translucent it will most likely either not have much effect, or just refresh the colour a bit. You will need to try to fade the Atomic Pink to get a lighter shade of pink, if bleaching isn't an option, though from what I've gathered Atomic Pink isn't very easy to fade.

i can't think of any specific brands but you can get build-up removing dyes which should do the trick.

We have a pre-colour shampoo called Blues at HairCrazy.com. It's designed to remove all the crap from your hair and leave it open to soaking in the dye. It also does a really good job of removing colour if you use it regularly. I'd buy soon though because LaRiche has discontinued it to be reformulated and I don't know when it will be back.

You really can't tell until you do a strand test. Some will, some won't. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

I dyed my hair atomic pink last year and it lasted MONTHS until I sat in the sun one day. So I would try doing that for a little bit and see if it makes a difference. You could also try this stuff called Nexxus Aloe-rid. I've used it to get rid of chlorine from my hair. don't know how well it would work on hair dye though. good luck It's a tough colour to get out

The light pink definatly wont show over the atomic, cotton candy wouldnt even show over my faded out flamingo pink.
Might try bleaching it a bit?

Pure tea tree oil mixed in with your crappy shampoo might get it out quicker. Use 5-10 drops in your normal amount. leave it on for about 5 minutes, minimum. Rinse. You should have some color come out. You can find it anywhere really. Drugstores or health food stores should carry this. *I forgot to mention, when you rinse it, rinse away from your face. The bottle just says not to get it in your eyes. If you're allergic to plants, its made 100% out of melaleuca plant, and might not be the best choice. If you have no allergy, then you're all set.
