I don't want to dye all my hair, though I'm not entirely sure how it's gonna be done, but I do not want an obscenely bright color like cotton candy pink. I was thinking using a very dark shade, like deep purple, or medium... but I'm not sure what would look nice on my hair.

my hair's pretty, dark... i guess... In strong light there's lots of gold in it though, which makes it look lighter. what do you think?

Maybe some streaks of Special Effects' Burgundy Wine? It should take pretty well but I think it will last a while.

    colors aren't bright without bleach.
I find that lots of reds and burgundys look good on natural hair....

I think Jude's idea of using SFX burgundy wine is a good idea. Very gorgeous color.

Atomic Pink should take ok on your hair but it will be a dark magenta shade rather than the super bright shade you usually see. I'd do a strand test first though.

I have the same problem i have brown hair(darker than yours lol) and i just use basic colors (red, blue, greens, and purples) and they tint my hair and even make it look lighter. hope it works for u!

MANIC PANIC Deadly Nightshade has proven to be a subtle highlight to brown hair, and it's gorgeously rich when done to natural hair. Deadly Nightshade is a dark magenta, I think it would go great with your not-so-pale skintone (if I'm seeing your skin correctly in this lighting)
