I recently bleached my roots and somehow in the rinsing process, I don't think I completely got rid of all the bleach. I woke up my hair feeling really fried. It was really frizzy and dry feeling.

I got my hair cut over the weekend and the stylist gave me a tiny bottle of Moroccanoil. It supposedly absorbs into the hair shaft, so the oil does not leave your hair greasy. It also smells really nice, sort of like a light incense scent. I think this is great stuff, although unfortunately it is really expensive in my opinon at least. I found some on Ebay for $34 for a 3.4 oz bottle and they were selling the sample size for $10!!!

I have been putting a little on my hair each day and it seems a lot better. I haven't washed my hair since I bleached it on Thursday. I'm letting it rest a little. At least it seems my hair is going to bounce back. I will have to be a LOT more careful in the future.

If my hair seems to need it, I might break down and buy some more.

Morrocanoil appears to be Argan oil, which is from a tree that only grows in Morocco. Goats like to climb the trees and eat the fruit. I bought some pure oil from there a few months ago, it was about 500ml for about US$7. It's becoming quite popular for cosmetic and culinary use. Naturally there's a markup for it outside Morocco, and there's a 'luxury' premium as it's quite a novel product in the West, with all sorts of promised health and moisturising wonders. (Tastes really nice too.) However, it sounds like the Moroccanoil company is taking the price a step further. They say they've done "modern" things to it, but I'd say it's pretty much Argan oil with a few other basic additives. I'd try a less expensive source and compare?

Hmmm....I'll have to do some research. I think there are a few things that make it perhaps smell a bit nicer, but if I could get a simliar product for a heck of a lot cheaper, I'd like that a lot!!!

On a side note, my hair is much better now. I washed & conditioned using my regular strengthening shampoo and a cheapo conditioner and my hair feels nice once again. *whew*

To make something smell nicer, I like to add a few drops of essential oil... something like lavender, rose, rosemary, bergamot, etc... Good luck and yay for better feeling hair!
