I think that I understand how to make synthetic dreads but I have a few questions :)

First, what kind of hair should I use?

and how do I attach them?

any advice would help me.

Thank You!

Try Heavenly Hair. They have TONS of tutorials, pictures, etc.

I've never made dreads, but I know you can make them from synth hair, yarns and wool. It all depends on what kind of "look" you're going for, what your budget is, etc.

I love adding synthetic stuff to my hair. At the moment I have plastic string in my hair (those scooby-doo things that kids make bracelets with). I've also had lengths of knotted wool braided into my hair. Use your imagination - almost anything can be used as synthetic dreads :D

is my hair with plastic :)

I've always braided the stuff into my hair the same way.
    1. Ask my Mum to do it
    2. Use two strands of hair, the other strand of the plait will be your dread thingy.
    3. Cross the hair over the centre point of the dread, and start plaiting. Secure with a small elastic band. The other half of the dread that's not been plaited into your hair will hang freely :)
