hopefully during the tattie holidays (mid october) im lightening my hair and im going to try using a few different red dyes in layers. ive decided on a box dye. country colours by Schwarzkopf in canyon red and im wanting another dye to go with it, probably reddish orange. i cant have anything too wild cuz of work.

at the same time im going to be removing the black from my friends hair and redying brown would there be amy problem with the compatibility of the brown dye?

Do you want to a use semi-permanent hair dye as the other colour? Seeing that the tags in your post are directions and manic panic. Manic Panic Infra Red, Pillarbox Red, Flaming and look like orangish red. Wildfire looks like a reddish orange. I'm not sure about the exact results, since what I'm saying is based on the pics on the Manic Panic site. :p

It will probably last about 6 weeks. Infra red lasted for about 3 or 4 months when I used it on Tony's hair which had been bleached to pale blond.
I'd be interested to see how Rock N Roll red looks in real life since I haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

The only manic panic red I've tried was Vampire Red. It faded really fast on me, though, had considerable fading in 1 week. Fuchsia Shock on the other hand lasted 3 months, so I don't know how long their other colours last generally. :/

Looking at the haircrazy shop, the description on the Directions Fire dye says that it's an orange-red colour. Plus it has the same name as you! :p

I think the extra cost of Directions or SFX is worth it. Manic Panic fades fast. But PillarBox red (a pinky red) lasted on my hair for over a month.
The rich pinky dyes from MP last longer than anything (Fushia Shock, Hot hot Pink, Red Passion etc) on my hair.

I think yellow, red-orange and red would look like the colours of real fire. So, yeah, I think the combination will look nice!
