Hi, I'm new, I'm not even sure if this is the right place to ask on this lovely forum, but here goes.

This is my silly face and I was wondering what you guys would recommend as a hair style/colour. I don't really want to cut my hair I like the length (about half way down my back - slightly shorter at the front) but I'm open to suggestions of any kind. I'm really interested in what you'd say. I like a lot of the taste people here have.

xxx

Edit: My skin tone is closer to the 2nd photo, if that's helpful.

Are you interested in natural or unnatural hair colours? Or both?

As for a cut, a layered one would look nice I think, keeping the length and just adding some layers to give it some volume.

Any colour seriously, just give me your honest opinion.

About the layers, I 'm not sure I want volume, I quite like my natural-straight low volume hair... it depends, I'm actually having a hard time imagining how it would be.

PS: Geia sou, eisai kala?

Hehe, I understand I usually just want my hair to be its natural pin straight self, too. Well, we're not talking about tons of volume, there's only so much volume you can give straight hair with a haircut. More like give it some ermm... movement. Hmm... if only I could find a picture of what I meant...bah!

Hm, I think some green or some blue would look nice on you. Or some cooler brown, or a pink-toned red. Actually I think most colours will look nice on you, since you are light.

PS: Hehe, mia xara! You know Greek, you aren't Greek I take it?

I'm thinking purple or blue would suit you, with some more defined layers at the front.

I'll see what the stylist says about the layers, I will probably do the layers they sound nice, I think I might dye the whole thing one colour like maybe orangey-red, not sure yet. I don't like the idea of highlights at moment.

I'm not Greek, I'm half cypriot & grew up in cyprus so I'm obviously fluent in greek. Ara technically den einai ellinida alla milo ellinika, me kipriaki profora, to eida to Greece kai eipa na tis po liga ellinika na doume ti tha pei. The whole thing purple or blue?
I've done my fringe purple in the past, it was pretty neat but faded into pink and then orangey-blond which was actually quite nice.

I think you're lucky in that you'll suit most colours. How about something super bright like orange? Purple is going to work well for you too. I happen to like orange with purple but that might be too much for your first full-head crazy hair colour.

I also agree about the layers. Have about 3 layers put in and make sure they point-cut or razor the ends for a choppy look. If you want volume you can blow dry and add mousse but if you don't just allow your hair to dry naturally. It will look good either way.

If I was doing your hair I think I'd cut the top layer a bit shorter, say shoulder length and then have a few more layers towards the ends. I think it would look good and you could make it more 'swishy' if you straightened each layer separately. That style would work with either your fringe as it is or if you wanted to grow it longer it would look just as good.

The thing I fear about having shoulder length hair is that it just turns outwards in a bad bad way. It looks terrible, honestly I remember when all my hair was shoulder length and it touched on my shoulders and turned outwards I looked pretty bad I dunno if you can imagine that, maybe it's me not imagining what you are saying. Do you have a pic?

Orange sounds really nice, are there any good "permanent" oranges? I realise whatever you do with red/orange etc it will fade more than other colours, right?

Maybe you could do them a little longer than shoulder length then? Even if you do cut them shoulder length, it will only be some hair on the upper layer, so they'll probably fall on the rest of your hair instead of your shoulders. Ehmm... at least I think so.
