So one day I noticed my hair was a bit floppy, which I heard can be blamed on conditioner if you use too much.
But I continued to shampoo and condition normally, until one day I got out of the shower and dried my hair, I noticed the roots were all sticky. Well, not really "sticky" per say, but they still had shampoo or conditioner on them. Apparently I wasn't rinsing my root area good enough? I had noticed my scalp being a little itchy, and I don't have lice, so... I decided not use shampoo or conditioner earlier today when I showered, and that I'd just rinse my hair, and try to get the scalp area. I brushed my hair and it seemed like it was falling out and was drier than usual- which seems appropriate though. Of course then I came on here and read that you shouldn't brush hair when wet- which I've been doing for a while now. Oops.
So anyway, should I use shampoo next time, and not conditioner? Or just rinse again?

Have you bleached your hair recently or used any other chemicals other than usual?

I'd say the last time I used a chem was September (it was bleach), but that's not entirely true. After that, I only used Manic Panic's Green Envy up until like November (dyed it three times). Then I used no chemicals, dyes, nothing. However, you should all know when green fades, it can get pretty darn ugly. Months later, in May, my mom took me to get a haircut- just a slight trim. The lady who cut my hair insisted on dying it back my natural color (dark brown)- since of course it looked awful. Now it looks much better. Of course, she probably used a salon dye, so it probably had chemicals in it. But I don't think she'd do something that ruined my hair. Anyway, I've been conditioning it for a while. Although now I'm using a different type of conditioner (same brand though). The kind I use now is like creamy and maybe I'm supposed to use less. Anyway I won't brush it when it's wet anymore but should I use anything tonight?

I think you're using the wrong type of conditioner.
    What exactly are you using?

It's called Coral Therapy by Rusk.

I use the shampoo and conditioner that are on the first page.

I think I've got it figured out...?

Creamy forumlas = Yes, use less and wash more. If you have some still sticking to your scalp after the shower it could be irritating your skin from prolonged contact? I don't imagine dried shampoo/conditioner is too great for your skin.
The brushing, as you said, is probably why your hair was coming out after the shower. That and I remember from having longer hair, after showers that I didn't condition my hair was very hard to brush OR comb so more hair would pull out as a result.

So I should use a little shampoo and conditioner, and not brush my hair, right?

Yep. Shampooing is best done every other day, though. Too often will dry out your hair and fade you horribly if you have any dye in.

I don't think that product is right for your hair.
But try what Jhop suggested first, and if you're still having no luck use something else.

It sounds like you're either not washing your hair properly or not rinsing enough.
Make sure you massage your scalp when you're shampooing and rinse thoroughly. Try using a bit less conditioner for a while. Also a clarifying shampoo will help shift any build-up.
