So I've attempted a coontail and it came out quite nice! But my only problem is I've bleached it twice and still haven't got it to the light blonde I'm aiming for. I used Manic Panic's Flash Lightning 30 volume and left it on for 90 minutes. I probably should have went for the 40 volume but my Sally's didn't have it My question is: should I attempt to bleach it again, or would I have hair left if I did go for the third time? :-P I kinda like the color it is, but a lighter blonde would be nice too! And I bought some Manic Panic Ultra Violet to put on it, but yet again, I'm not sure I will.

This is the first time I've used bleach and Manic Panic. The pink that is in my hair now was a dye and bleach mixture for 'N Rage.

Any comment or tips would be appreciated!!

I could be wrong, but I think I've heard that Manic Panic bleach isn't exactly the best. I think you will need lighter hair if you want the color to look its best, so you should probably bleach again but with a different bleach.

When you bleach again depends on what condition your hair is in. If it feels good, like almost normal, you could bleach again in a day or two. If your hair feels really damaged, definately wait a while until it feels better.

Good luck, and I hope to see some pictures when it's finished!

Yeah, I suspected that it may not be the best when I looked on the back and it said to leave it on for 90 minutes.. I was like that's a long time... But my boyfriend absolutely HATES being in Sally's so I just grabbed it and was on my merry way.

My hair feels fine! It's been about 6 months since I dyed that part, so it's had more than enough time to recuperate! So I'll probably go back to Sally's get a better bleach and begin the process all over again! It's just hell trying to get tape back on to the right parts..

your last post sounds the best idea. Get a good conditioner to ward off breakage too, and well done on that bleaching, I really like it the colour it is!

I agree, looks cool as it is. Was your hair dyed before you bleached it? That might explain why the colour didn't lift as well as you expected.
If you don't think your hair can handle another bleaching red will cover that quite nicely or you may even be able to use plum successfully.

The last time I dyed it was in January or February and that was back to my natural color, brown. But I'm still not sure if I want to try to bleach it again.. I know my hair can handle it because it still feels like it did before I bleached it the first time. Like I said in my first post, I like the color it is now, but I think bleaching it again will make it stand out more. But I'll wait a few days and see if the current color grows on me. If it doesn't, then I'll go purchase some more bleach. Any recommendations on a good bleach??
