Hi all,
Apologies for my terrible lack of input of late - I'm now back from my travels so will put on my partici pants.
Anyway - I know this question got asked so often on the old forum so I'm really sorry to ask again, but I can't find it anywhere on the new forum.
Can anyone give me a blow by blow account of how to do a bleach bath?
I used Pimpin' Purple quite a few months ago and it faded to pink, but the pink refuses to die! So when my colour fades I end up with this pink. And now I want to go blue, so pink isn't very helpful.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
love
Xx.

    IM HERE!

OK - bleach bath blow by blow?

    Youll need:-

    20/30vol bleach (unmixed)
Shampoo (preferably clarifying so you can guage the strength of the bleach better)
    Good conditioner
    Time telling device

Pour into a mixing bowl the normal amont of shampoo you would use to wash your hair.

Mix up the bleach as normal, try and make approximately HALF of the amount of the shampoo youll be adding it to.

Mix together thoroughly, the shampoo (if a clear clarifying one) should be a sky blue colour from the bleach.

Quickly apply to semi wet hair. I usually run mine under the shower and give it a towel rub. So its wet but not dripping.

Starting at the neds like bleach apply the mixture, work your way up your hair then give the whole lot a good rub, like shampooing your hair. Spray on some water to get it bubbling.

You can now wrap your head in plastic OR leave it loose depending on how severe you want the colour removal to be.

Scrape off a bit of the bleach every few mins to watch the lightening.

Wash off when desired colour achieved.

I found at the start of getting the SFX reds off my unbleached hair 10-15 mins at a time was good. then I left it a week or two and repeated.

For bleached hair I'd suggest 7-10 mins, or if your confident, go by your eye.

Make sure you get all the residue out and condition really well, as the shampoo and bleach mix will leave your hair pretty dried out!

    Hope that helped!!

Please avoid deliberate misspelling e.g. "whatz", "cuz", for the benefit of those of us who can't stand it and non native English speakers.
    More info: http://haircrazy.info/documents/posting-guidelines/#forum

It's a bleach bath because it uses shampoo with bleach to dilute it and help remove the colour. That is also the difference between normal bleaching and a bleach bath. Normally you wouldn't add shampoo.

Spandorexxa, that would make a great article for the site (and save you repeating yourself). Fancy adding it? (http://www.haircrazy.info/article/add)
BTW I'm resurrecting your old posts about dreadlocking and will add them to the site when I can reconstruct the 30mb database

I know this was kind of just asked, but is a bleach bath more effective to remove dye than a normal bleach mixture?

Both are effective as each other if used correctly.

Bleach lets you remove colour in one or two goes, however risking the quality of your hair.

Bleach baths are a mnore gradual process.
