Okay, well, I'd really like to try out this whole white/silver hair deal while my hair is still a mostly light blond. I currently have in my posession Special Effect's toner. Since I've had basically no results with this toner before, I was wondering if mixing a pinch of blue(blue velvet, in this case) into the toner would make it a blue-purple base, which would most likely work on my hair. When i had blue velvet and blond, the parts where the hair bled were icy blue, silverish, and white (hence my thinking that diluting that dye w/toner will give me atleast a somewhat silvery shade.)

So my question is, will this even work? I'm considering only adding a tiny, tiny amount of blue to the toner because it's so dark to start with. Do you think I could get a white-sih silver thing if I applied it? I'll probably try this out, regardless. I need a change. I also wouldn't mind light blue and orange together!

i haven't tried it personally, but I did try mixing ultra violet with conditioner to make a toner. It worked kind of. It turned my hair more silver than white, but I liked the result. So you could probably get some result with what you want to try. Just make sure not to put too much dye in the mixture.

Yeah that should work nicely. The SFX toner is really good at getting rid of the yellowness in pale blond hair so you'll only need a tiny bit of blue velvet to give it a silvery shimmer. Post pics if you can

I have no idea if the blue with the white toner would work, but what I do know is that blue/orange is a lovely combination - I had my hair like that for a few months :)

That's Blue Mayhem and Napalm Orange.

It is - I chose blue and orange since they're on opposite sides of the colour wheel so they'd make eachother stand out more. The only downside is that in the small area that the colours mix, it's a nasty brownish colour. Gotta be careful when applying the colour so as not to mix the dye.
