I've got my next crazy hair idea that I must must do, but I need a bit of help with this one. I can't figure out how to plan this, and what order to do everything in.

What's gonna happen is that I have 3 shades of pink by Directions (Flamingo Pink, Rose Red, Cerise), and I'm gonna have them applied to my hair in 3 blended parts - Flamingo Pink at the roots, Rose Red in the mid-section, and Cerise at the tips.

That'll be all rather easy, but what I also want to get done is get part of my hair shaved off, right at the base of the hair, at the top of my neck. I want to shave off enough to have an inch or an inch and a half height of shaved hair. I want to bleach this part to white (I have some white toner to help me), and then do some vertical stripes in Bright as F@%$ Yellow.

How do I stop the pink from running into the yellow/white and wrecking the whole thing? All I could think of was getting the pink done one day, and then going a week later to get the yellow/white done.

Also - what I would have really loved to do more than white/yellow is black/yellow - to make it look like one of those road signs with the I've got my next crazy hair idea that I must must do, but I need a bit of help with this one. Hmm... it would also look pretty cool if I just did black dye to make it look like a bar code. But of course - how to stop the black from running into the white. That's my main issue. Also, when I wash my hair afterwards, I don't want the white to end up all pink because of pink dye running out of the rest of my hair.

I've used Directions before and so much dye came out of my hair with the first wash. I didn't have that issue with SFX dye, but I'm going for Directions this time to have the 3 shades of pink (and also because I can't find any Atomic Pink anywhere!!).

I drew a really crappy picture with my mouse to show you what it should all look like (just use a LOT of imagination ok!!).

And please be honest: do you think this will actually look good?

Well, maybe you can put in the pink before bleaching the shaved part, then if anything bleeds it won't be that bad and you'll be bleaching it anyway, so who cares, right?

Also, I think a black and yellow would be very cool as it would stand out more than the white/yellow. Maybe you could use the same technique as above if your afraid of the color bleeding into the white or yellow by just not bleaching those parts until after you've washed out the black dye?

This will probably be alot more time consuming but I think you can be a little more sure of the results.. Hope that helps!

I like the pink idea and the black & yellow one as well.
But maybe not all at once.
It just seems a bit too 'busy' to me.
Dying initially is going to be difficult, and re-touching will be as well.
It's not impossible though, like Missihavenolife mentioned you're probably best to bleach the shaved part 'till after the pink is done.
