Okay, I promised in my last thread that I'd let everyone know how my close encounter with Manic Panic Flash lLightening turned out, so here it is:

(Note: My hair was quite dark with remnants of permanent black and atomic pink.)

1st bleach (40 vol): I left it on for 2 hours. (Bad idea, I know) Got most of the permanent black out. Hair turned the colour of rotten oranges.

2nd bleach (30 vol): Again left it on for 2 hours. Turned roots blonde in about 1/2 hour. Rest of hair lightened to a kind of darkish blonde/pink.

The aftermath: Ever snapped a bundle of rice noodles in half? Yeah... that's pretty much what the ends of my hair are like. In my hasty bleaching I missed a patch at the back, but I know if I get any more bleach within a foot of my hair it will leap off my head in self-defence, so I'm just going to put up with it.

Overall: I was a little disappointed with the product, especially since it was pretty damn expensive (£10 per pack, and I bought 2). After literally an entire day of bleaching I couldn't get all the colour out of my hair, though it did lighten considerably.
The product probably works best on natural hair; it turned my almost black roots pale blonde in about 1/2 hour.
It didn't damage my hair as much as I expected, particularly as it had been bleached many, many times before.
...and it comes in such a cool shiny box that i could forgive it anything...

In the end I got my atomic pink hair back, so it was all worth it!

Oh, and sorry for the lack of pics! My camera has decided to roll over and die on me... T_T

Hope this was helpful!

PS: Mods - Was it OK to start a new thread for this, or should I have posted it in my old one?

Sorry to hear it didn't turn out so well for you.
It's ok to start this as a new topic. I'll add manic panic's bleach kit in to the reviews section and maybe you could review it? http://haircrazy.info/Reviews/by-manufacturer/manic-panic/flash-lightning/flash-lightning-bleach-kits/

Ooh that's all helpful to know. I've got some MP 30vol to try and banish the pink left behind by my Pimpin' Purple many moons ago.
Maybe a nice big cut will help out the ends of your hair?
Even a little trimette might get rid of most of the knackered bits?
I'd love to see a picture of your Atomic pink when you can - just to see how well the bleach worked
    Love
    Xx.
