I dont really understand, when you do the screenshot off media player, it "moves"?

    Could you explain a bit?

It could depend on the file type as some are funny with screenshots, i know .flv, .avi and a few others are a pain to do...

I'd try Googling for a screen shot.

the file is a .wmv. when i mean it moves, the picture is just like a copy of the windows media player window but instead of what was on the screen when i took the screenshot, there is the image of whatever is currently playing in my wmp

tried googling. it didnt help. i'm trying to get a picture from the "from yesterday" video by 30 seconds to mars. i need a picture of the singers hair so that i can show the hairdresser what i want because my german isnt good enough to explain it

    i can help you =]
i used to do this all the time with yahoo music videos but now they made it so u cant do it so youll have to find another site but it should work
    what you do is

    1. play the video until the part you want
    2. when you get to that part pause it
    3. now look on your keyboard
    4. 2 buttons above the 'delete' button theres a button that says 'print screen'
    5. press it
[that will copy the whole screen]
    6. open up a program liek paint or some drawing program
    7. go to 'edit' and click 'paste' and the whole screen will pop up [the screen you copied]

if you dont understand or you cant seem to do it tell me what kind of screenshot you want and ill do it for you

you are trying to get a screenshot of the 30STM video right?
    of Jared Leto's hair?

When you are watching the video, pause it on the part you want and press shift=prt scr on your key board (it's the button next to scroll lock and above insert on your keyboard usually). Then go on Paint or whatever paintshop program you may have and right click, press paste, and it should stay a picture I think.

Hi it does work as that's how I do it (I make a lot of video avatars and do converting for people on a regular basis)

If you have a laptop, press the 'fn' button at the same time as 'prtscrn'

If you have a desktop it is usually 'alt' and 'prtscrn'. Make sure you press both at the same time. Open up 'paint', press edit then paste then you will have a screenshot. If it comes out with the wmp surround, you will need to crop the image. I think the new version of paint has this built in but I use photoshop.

EDIT: Here is A step by step tutorial which is pretty much the same as what I have said:http://www.iopus.com/guides/screenshot.htm

If this STILL doesn't work for some wierd reason (and i have just double checked) open up the video in a free program you can download called 'Media player classic'-this player which plays many formats including DVD has a built in screenshot function. Let us know if it works...
