so I've been wanting to mess around again with some color - the extension streaks just aren't cutting it! I want to put some streaks in my bangs/fringe area. and I've got 2 questions

1) this is really more of a clarification, but if i did bleached streaks I'd be able to vary the color with my whims as it fades correct? my hair itself is very strong, but I have a temporary form of hair loss at the folicle level thats still in recovery so I don't want to damage the hair that slowly fillling back in.

2) what would the best placement be to achieve streaks like this? (i linked it since they were posted on a live journal community, figured not my place to swipe her shots!) http://community.livejournal.com/shave_n_draw/405406.html#cutid1
I looked at her myspace to try and figure out how she did it but there were no clear shots with her hair down.

here is a somewhat recent refrence of my fringe and parting - excuse the goofyness, i was showing off my medical alert bracelet i'd gotten -( it was also before I went back to black. ) I have a little bit of framing at the sides but not a lot - its mostly just long fringey bits.

its actualy a decent bit longer now, i can tuck barely tuck behind my ears

You can change your colour when it's faded enough.
But it's best to follow the colour wheel theory:
    http://haircrazy.info/HairScience/colour-theory-for-hair-dyeing/
Because it isn't easy to go from red to green, purple to yellow, orange to blue, etc.
As for the streaks, it looked like she bleached her bangs at the front.
And she took a small section at the front of each ear and bleached those as well.

Yup I agree. Looks like she took about an inch thick section and bleached it.
