Red and black are probably the hardest two colors to bleach out. It looks like you've got a good start, and it shouldn't take too many more bleaches to get it to the color you want. Make sure you use bleach and not liquid peroxide and white dye. Those won't do much by themselves, I think. Also make sure you don't bleach your hair if it's too damaged. There is a very real risk of it breaking off. This might take a while, so don't get discouraged because you don't have immediate results. Otherwise, good luck!

Black dye is very difficult to bleach out. Think about switching to a better brand of bleach which is less likely to wreck your hair, something from Sallys would be better than that XXL colours stuff, it sucks.

Failing that you could bleach bath it so you minimse the damage. Really be careful, breakage can happen much more easily than you expect.

Leave time between bleachings (2 weeks) and make sure your using a good conditioner. Also have a look at the bleaching article here for extra advice.

I have to agree, I really hate that stuff. I tried that particular one before and it made my hair really crispy.
I really don't think it looks bad though. You could try toning it with something like Born Blonde or BBlonde toner to help even out the brassy tones.
