I'm not going to (my hair's practically black naturally to begin with) but I've heard from someone that if you dye your hair black, your roots will grow in black no matter what your natural color is. However, this person has dark hair to begin with, it could have been their imagination. Also I know people who dyed their hair black and their roots were perfectly visible. I've also heard of natural blondes dying their hair red and the roots grow in brown.
Just want to know what your experience was if you've ever dyed black, or if you know whether this is true or not.

Nah that's a crock.
It will grow in whatever your natural colour is. A lot of people dye their hair black in their teens when most people's natural colour darkens anyway. That's probably what that's about.

Thats a load of B.S the hair darkening thing Jude suggested is most accurate, Plus when I was growing my black dye out my hair looked much darker as it hadnt been in the sun for 2-5 years like it would have been if it hadnt been dyed.

I think anybody's hair may look darker at the roots than it is anywhere else on the hair. My natural hair color is light brown, but my roots seem to come in black. I'm sure if you let your hair grow long enough, it would look natural again. Just a guess though.
