After bleaching, obviously your hair gets really dry and damaged. I thought I'd prepared myself for that, but I really hadn't! I missed my shiny, healthy hair so much!
...Then i discovered pure coconut oil! (sounds like an advert, haha) its amazing! just a tiny amount on damp hair and dry in! look at the difference in my hair!!

Really?! Wow, that really did work for your hair!

When I used coconut oil, all it did was muck-up my hair REALLY badly. It was all clumped, and mushy.....

Anywhoo, I got it from Savers but I'm pretty sure you can get it from Superdrug for about £1!

I love the stuff too! I think I've suggested it a few times when people have asked for help with over bleached hair.

LaLavava is sounds like you used too much - for daily use, not much more than a fingernail is nessecary. if you're using it as a leave-in treatment then more than be used, but that needs to be shampooed out. Thats the biggest key, is not using too much.

Another tip is that if you use it often, you need to use a clarifying rinse everyonce in a while because it builds up really fast. A baking soda mix is really gentle and makes a great clarifying shampoo to remove build-up - or you can just get a clairfying shampoo. It does fade color, so I only do it about once a month. But removing all that buildup from products - even regular shampoos and conditioners, has made a HUGE difference with my hair in addition to coconut treatments and such.

You can get it somewhere like Wal-Mart. Its in the health food section. You want pure coconut oil with no addatives, it comes in a solid state, so either using it by scraping your finger nail to get some, or you can heat it in the microwave for a mask treatment, then divide it up into smaller containers - it seems to come in big ones most often. You can also use it as a skin mosturizer.

My Mum's a fan of this. She uses it to calm her super curley hair - its got a myriad of uses!

Im planning on trying it on the tips of my dreads as when I bleach them, theyll be dry dry dry.

I got it from Superdrug for 99p. 'Pure Coconut Oil', beside the shampoos.

The first time i put it in i put a tiny bit too much in and it went hard, but i just rinsed with cold water and it was fine.

I guess it probably wouldn't work as well for people with naturally greasy hair... as it might just make it look too oily. For really dry hair though it works a treat- as long as you dont put too much on, as BunnyWabbit says.

I wouldnt suggest putting it in the microwave, it melts on contact with your skin so no need really. :)

From what I understand it smoothes out the core of your hair or something, so it will help with heat damage- i still use my heat protection spray though.
