Okay, so Halloween is right around the corner. It's my favorite holiday, but every year, I have trouble thinking up the "perfect" costume. Some years I've been downright lame...no more "vampires", school girls, etc. I want a good costume. I did a Misfits theme twice in a row, so I'm trying to stay away from that...(did Die, Die My Darling & a fictional beauty queen, Ms. Spook City)but gorey, gross characters work for me, so...

So far, I've come up with a couple of ideas, and hopefully the hubs will play along (or just do his own thing). Add you ideas, feel free to swipe mine, too!!!

Here are the ideas I've come up with:

1. Hellbilly(Zombie Hillbilly) - think the chick from the Devil's Rejects for clothing...but zombified!!!
2. Horror Nurse - victim from a horror movie (or a villian)...lots of blood, gore
3. Devil Doll - think Wednesday Adams as a Ragdoll

That's about it. I like to put my own "spin" on a character. My makeup skills are okay, not great, but I like doing makeup.

Last year I was a dead cowgirl. This yeah Im going for something a bit more original. As I have dreads Im limited to what I can do, my choices so far are:-

    Voodoo priest
    Pirate (HOW original)
    Ancient Teuton/Norse (much cooler)
    Cave girl.

I may just combine all 4.

Well, the Rennassaunce Festival is coming up, so my costume idea actually will have 2 uses.....

I bought a suit of armor, and I spray-painted the entire suit green, then I got some vines and plants, and spray-painted them shiny gold. And I pasted the gold plants on the costume....

All I have to do now is dye my hair green, and I'll be a very convincing "Green Knight" from Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.....

Lonliness isn't being alone. It's when someone loves you, and you don't have it in you to love them back.....

I've been invited to a fancy dress party with a 'rock legends' theme. I'm trying to find a whole load of feathers so I can make a swan dress and go as Bjork. It'll be ace.

Oooo. I was just thinking about Halloween costumes earlier today.

I'm probably going to dress as a star. In both the movie star and twinkly star in the sky sort of ways. I found a silver formal halter dress at a thrift store for two dollars, and I'd style my hair in a fashion similar to Marilyn Monroe. Plus a lot of rhinestone jewelery and a sparkly navy blue shall/boa that I'm knitting. It should be pretty schnazzy.

Though I also was toying with the idea of going as Elle Driver from Kill Bill when she was dressed as a nurse. The problem with this is I'd have to leave my hair alone long enough for it to go blonde, and I'm not sure I could manage that.

I'm thinking about dressing up like Nancy Spungen since the only thing I need to buy is a cheap blonde wig.
I hope I can convince my boyfriend to dress up like Sid Vicious though otherwise no one will get it.

I like to always do something scary for halloween. Here's the last few years worth of costumes:
    2006 - jester
    http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1316/1222038208_f9fcbd55a0.jpg?v=0
That costume took a while since I had to sew a lot of it. The collar (and there were cuffs and a waist band) was made up of black and white triangles that I wired so they could be manipulated. I added bells to each one. I also had this freaky porcelain jester dolls head on a stick that I carried around. That one was so much fun!
2005 - Baron Samedi (not because of James Bond)
2004 - Medussa - complete with toy snakes in my hair
2003 - Papa Lazrou from League of Gentlemen

So far I have no ideas for this year. Me and Tony usually like to go as part of a set. (When I was Baron Samedi he was a shrunken head, when I was papa laz he was tubs). That makes it kind of harder to pick something. Usually I have it all decided by this stage but it's been interesting reading the posts for ideas.

If I dressed as a candy, I'd be an "S & M"......spike collar, whip, black boots, you get the picture!!! I saw a Goth Teletubby once (complete with an Ankh on its head). That was cute (I hate Teletubbies).
