So I was looking for a Topic on White hair, I realy want to make my Mohawk white, Problem is i am wondering if anything will stain my hair, such as hardwater, sweat, anything odd like that.

Is it easy to keep up and a nice bright white or is it just a pain in the a$$ or what? Just wondering if there is a topic somewhere Sorry i didnt find it,
Thanks.

Well, I've never had "white" hair (platinum blonde is the lightest I've ever gotten), but really, it's just hair that's been bleached to light yellow and then a toner has been applied in order for the gold tones to be neutralized.

The problems with "white" hair...

1. Sometimes difficult to achieve the light yellow color of the bleached hair. If your hair is dark, bleaching it to a pale yellow may be difficult or nearly impossible.

2. When you have bleached hair, your roots show almost immediately. It's a pain that you learn to deal with, but basically, you must touch up your roots about once a month or so (toward the end, the roots will be nearly unbearable, if you're anything like me - I hate dark roots showing!).

If you do it, just be prepared for some upkeep. It can be really great to have light blonde/white hair, but it is a lot of work. It doesn't have to cost a lot of money, but you will need to purchase bleach and toner and may need to experiment with some different brands of toner in order to find the perfect one.

Here's an article for you to read through http://haircrazy.info/DyeingTechniques/going-whitesilver/

You'll find you need to wash it often. Scalp oil tends to have a yellowish tone to it so it really shows up on white hair. Washing often leads to toning more often so be prepared to have to work on it.

Well, I personally thought it was quite the pain in the butt. Here's some stuff I learned:

It doesn't look great on everyone. I have pink undertones in my skin, so they seemed to show up more vibrantly with that color. It may have similar effects with other skin tones.

While my hair was very light, I found it extremely frustrating to find bits that stayed yellow/blond. I decided to live with that though, because another bleaching would destroy my hair.

Yes, it's a lot of upkeep if you're putting the toner in it. I do NOT suggest bleaching it to the point of being white either, as that would obviously kill your hair. Also, my hair comes in looking a shade off of black, so bleaching once a month is necessary. That can also be an obstacle because sometimes the roots do not bleach as well as you were expecting, and you are left with yellow roots and white hair(this leaves definite lines between your old and newly bleached hair!!)

Overall, I find that unless you already have light blond hair(naturally), then there is no point in stretching your hair to its limits just to get a color that may not even look right in the end.

Sorry to be such a party crasher. Go for the look if you want! It's certainly a look for the dedicated(which I'm not). These are just some things that you could run into with the process and upkeep of white hair.

I've never done white hair.....but my brothe's girlfriend wanted to try it out...

We achieved our goal...5 bleaches, 2 toners, and nearly 2 days later.

Not only was her hair an absolute damaged mess, but it also looked just plain ugly.....much like Missihavenolife said, depending on your skin-tones, white hair simply isn'tfor everyone.....

Lonliness isn't being alone. It's when someone loves you, and you don't have it in you to love them back.....

Hairspray never stained my hair when I used it. Gel shouldn't either, although I didn't try any out when my hair was light.

Ive had white hair for about two years, and its short so I needto put stuff in it everyday...nothing Ive put in it has altered the colour in any way so far! The stuff I tend to use is white/light anyway...unless you're using some exotic brown wax...?
