So this combination was a bit unintentional to start with. I bought Loreal Feria's "Bright Black #21" Thinking I'd get a shiny, solid black color to contrast my green hair. The picture on the box shows a woman with BLACK hair. The color swatch shows BLACK hair. Slapped on the dye and realized, OH F*CK! It's navy-freakin'-BLUE! As you can imagine, I was MAD.

Well, I still had some faded green bits left over from my previous dye job. I felt like a true green wouldn't look good with such a dark color of blue, so I reluctantly decided to say good-bye to super-green hair(for now at least) for a while. I was going between a light blue or a teal color to put on the remaining bits, and I think you can see which one I ended up choosing. The teal is a mix between Special effects Blue Velvet and Limelight. I'm content at the moment, but as soon as this blue mess fades, it's back to a REAL black for me!

There's a bit of teal in the back as well!

The same thing happened to me with that dye.
I'm surprised they haven't stopped calling it 'bright black'.
    Still looks good though.

It's such a pain when stuff like that happens. It's good your ok with it though.
I wonder if maybe next time you'd get a good result using a pro-brand black and adding a bit more of the colour part to the mix.

I dyed my boyfriends hair with Schwarzkopf Live Waterproof Deep Black last night and it's just about the blackest dye I've ever seen!

I had mixed results with Schwarzkopf's Poly Colour Natural Black. On me it went brown pretty quickly and lasted a few weeks longer on Adam. I do like their Igora range although I haven't tried the black shades.

I don't think I've ever had that happen with a black dye before, and I've used several different ones. My best results are from Garnier Nutrisse in Natural black.

Wow! Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Schwarzkopf seems like a good brand, but I've only seen their little brands where I live(got2be glued, and maybe a few others that I can't recall at the moment). I did see Schwarzkopf while I was in Switzerland, however!!

I don't quite understand, what exactly do you mean by this?(I'm a bit slow sometimes, )

That's odd because I used the same exact dye as well Loreal Feria's "Bright Black #21", I had my hair red with Special Effect's Nuclear Red, and went ahead and tipped the hair black using that, turned out fine for me, though it did have a very slight blue tint to it when looked at in the sun or bright light, maybe it reacted with the dye you already had on?
