Well, my hair was a platinum/silverish blonde color with about a month's worth of roots. I decided to bleach the roots and remove the toner (silver colored). I then applied Clairol Level 4 Golden Brown all over my head, except for a few parts where I had used rubber bands and foils to separate out the blonde. Originally, I had left more blonde, but I thought it looked strange, so I added more brown in the fringe/bangs/sideburns areas. I originally also planned to add Clairol Red Intensifier (on its own) to create a tri color look, but the two tone highlighted look took me a while and I was afraid to mess it up!

That's very spiffy! You're hair usually looks really cool, and this look is no exception.

Color makes you beautiful, so taste the rainbow.

Thanks...I still don't know how I got 2 of the same picture on here. I couldn't fix it! Oh well...

I really wanted to add the red, but I was kind of scared! I figured leave well enough alone.

I like both the color and style! I think they suit you well. Wish I could pull of super short hair.

Thanks...it took a bit of time because I initally left a lot more blonde parts and then decided it looked strange (kind of like my hair couldn't decide which color it wanted to be!). I then added more brown and then a bit more to even it up.

All in all, I think it took me close to 1.5 hrs or so, including the bleaching. I used a whole container of hair color (even on my short hair) because I kept having to reapply it. I like it, although after straight blonde it took some getting used to. I think next time I need to retouch, I'm getting a darker brown and trying to add the red.

I've read elsewhere that the Clairol Intensifier turns out a bit pink when used on bleached hair, so I'm not sure if I'm going to try to use it, or if I will just return it to Sally's and purchase a red SFX or some other veggie dye. I think Blood Red would work if the brown was dark enough. I'm not really wanting pink, though. I want a true red, which of couse has to work with the brown color.

Next time, I'll be going darker and more neutral. Over the already blonde hair, this brown is really golden. It's not bad, but usually I lean toward the ashier shades.

Great hair cut! The bleached parts really accentuate all the right parts :)
