My roots are about 2 inches long and haven't been bleached since June.
I have this constant dilema between my love of blue hair and my love of shiny black hair.
My bleached hair is in ok condition but the root regrowth is so thick and shiny that I really like it. I don't want to leave it undyed so I'd either bleach it and loose condition or dye it black and loose the colour. I can never decide and I can't even settle on a compromise between half blue half black.
So here I am with 2 inches of dark brown roots.

Until I decide I'm just going to let it keep growing out but it's starting to look ugly unless it's parted a certain way. Has anyone got any ideas for either making the roots less noticeable or else making a feature of them so it looks deliberate?

i have the same problem jude except i have black hair with my blond roots growing through. i just leave it alone until i decide to dye it again cos i like the two tone effect:P

Maybe you could color the roots with a dark colored blue or purple and allow that to "blend" into your blue haircolor or Manic Panic makes colored gel that you could use like that "root touch up" mascara wands they sell at beauty supply stores. I've never used it, but I've always been a bit curious about it. Now, more than ever, since I have BORINGISH hair.

Ive seen people with a big quiff at the front with huge roots and the 2 colours looked deliberate. Like a Gwen Stefani type do. Just depends if the quiff is something you like.

I agree with cancankant--a deep purple would probably do the trick with a little blending. Actually, I bet that would look really cool.
