Wondered if anyone could help me........ I have bleached blonde hair in a mohawk with a fringe at the front. Im no stranger to dying hair and all the rest of it, when I did use to dye it I used to do it all in one colour.

The other day I decided to try and put pink streaks in my fringe, like stripes. One chunk of hair pink, then blonde, then pink, then blonde etc. So i set to work, seperated the bits of hair that I wanted to colour, once it had been coloured I then wrapped it in clingfilm so that my blonde bits wouldnt get pink. So I carried on like this till it was all done, everything looked rosy, and then when I came to wash off the excess dye, it all ran into the rest of my fringe so in the end it just all ended up different shades of pink!!!!! What did I do wrong? Is there some trick that I dont know about? I didnt use shampoo to wash the dye out, cause I thought that it would defo smudge if lathered up my fringe. I just kinda stood under the shower, to minimise smudging as much as poss. My hair had been bleached some time ago and the dye I used was schwarzkopf live in rebel pink (it was in the pound store!!! lol)

Washing out veggie dyes can be maddening, since they do tend to bleed and run. In the future, maybe try having someone else help you rinse out the pink color, while still keeping the cling film on the part(s) you want to keep blonde. At very least, maybe try keeping the film on the blonde while you rinse it out. I think everybody has problems with the dyes running. You're not alone.

It should bleach out pretty easily. I find the best thing is to use as little dye as possible and paint it on really dryly. That way there's less dye to run. It's always hard when you're doing it with bleached hair though. It sounds like you did everything right though.
