I got bored with blue/green/purple hair so the other night I did my first bleach bath and my God it was fantastic!! I think I may have left it on too long (about 20-25 mins?) because my hair was a bit rough after but it lifted the blue/green/purple no problems and even bleached my roots for me!! Way way less fuss than conventional bleaching.

Anyway, after that I whacked a load of a blood red/poppy red mixture on it and I got this rather nice result:

You do really suit red. I think you could pull off orange pretty well too.
