Straightforward question... I know I'm probably gonna need to bleach my hair more than once to get the pale yellow colour...

So is stripping any less damaging than bleaching? Because I could probably strip then bleach, and get the yellow colour.

Thanks.

Stripping is only really good for getting the excess colour from a permanent dye out of your hair. If it's natural stripping won't be as affective as bleaching.

Yeah, my hair is dyed dark brown at the moment. Underneath that and several other dark brown dyes, is already bleached hair.

I was just wondering if i might be able to strip it back to where it was bleached...

Hmm... well the only way to know for sure is with a strand test I guess.

be sure you read the labels carefully - some strippers are watered down bleaches and therefore should be treated like bleach. a true color stripper shrinks the dye molecule, and cannot do anything to virgin hair. I learned this the hard way and wound up with bleached roots when I just wanted to remove some black dye.

    I stripped mine once.
My virgin hair became all white and the rest became orange, just like a more extreme bleach.
I thought it was more damaging than bleaching though.
