Well, I went burgundy a couple of weeks ago. I used the Clairol Complements Red Intensifier I had left over from my blonde/red hairdo, and I basically just did an all over red color. It turned out much darker than before, possibly because the under colors were less blonde.

I am posting the before color, which was bleach blonde/SFX Napalm Orange that had been colored over with a 9N blonde Ion (Sally's brand) permanent hair color. I liked it, but my roots had started to show and it was bothering me!

I will probably stay red for a while (or at least in the general red/burgundy/violet zone). I've done similar colors before and think they look pretty good. I am much happier with the performance of the Red Intensifier this time around. It has been fading a lot less.

i absolutely LOVEE burgandy hair.
I went burgandy for my first color and yes I do miss it. I could actually put my hair down on my maroon car and you could barely see the differnce lol.
But alas it was this past summer and soccer preseason make it go funky due to being out in the sun twice a day every day for two hours each time.

But your color came out great! I love it lol!

I left it on for a longer time than the package indicated as well. Probably 30+ minutes as opposed to 15 minutes. It covered the front a bit more thoroughly than the back, but the front was the coppery color (Napalm colored over with blonde). You could see a difference in color between the root color and the blonde in the back, but it's only noticeable if you scrutinize the color close up.

Thanks for the compliments on the Complements!!! So when I refresh, what color do you think I should do? I am thinking about getting my hair cut this weekend, since it's shaggy and the holidays are coming up. I am thinking maybe going a bit more on fuschia/pink side of red/violet. I also like brighter red (and think it might work well once this fades a little bit), like Nuclear Red or Cherry Bomb or some other SFX color.

When i was doing my burgandy someone said that putting like candy apple red over burgandy works good.
That will definately give you a brighter red. It will be easier too I think because i tried to go back to brown after my burgandy and it was a pain!!!

I am just updating. Didn't think I should start a new thread, since it's pretty much the same thing. I used Ion (Sally's brand) 6RV Creme and 30 volume developer about 2 weeks ago. I've also been using a red color shampoo & conditioner, and it seems to be working well. I also got a bit of a chop, since my hair was getting a bit long. Ha, ha, ha...

I have a ton of the 6RV left (about 2/3 of the bottle, since my hair so short), so in a week I'm doing a touch up. I'm also planning to stock up on some funky colors when my local supplier has it's 50% off sale on New Year's Day. Woo hoo...

This was taken yesterday in Wisconsin, where, yes, it was SNOWING once again!!! At least I got off of work early.
