I've been trying to figure out how to get a sort of Visual Kei look, with my hair "spiked" out, but not necessarily stiff, singular spikes.
Kind of like this:

I have a cyberpunky cut, sloping from about an inch in the back, to a front that hangs past my jaw. Any ideas how to do this?

It looks like the cut is a key part to something like this. I'd try something like a texturizing creme. Pull the creme up and out, molding the spiky parts. Finish off with a little hairspray (super hold, but something not so stiff is ideal). We used to use this stuff called something like l'Amour(???). They still sell it at Sally's - it's in a white can with black spots. I can't recall the name, though.

Frankly, once I looked at the picture again, you might be okay with hairspray alone. You spray, pull, hit it with heat from a hairdryer.

*Edited* ... The name of the hairspray is LaMaur Sprayage II. I had to look it up. A blast from the past! It's heavy duty hairspray but not rock hard.
