Hey there everybody -

I have "naturalish" burgundy hair. I am looking to put some funky color in. What do you think will look good?

I've got a couple of SFX colors in my arsenal. Deep Purple (small amount, about 1/4 bottle leftover from another project), Cherry Bomb, and Nuclear Red (both red colors are full bottles I purchased recently). I also have Napalm Orange, which I don't think would work on this occasion.

I was thinking maybe making the bangs purple (coloring over with Deep Purple). Any other ideas? I had a really nice color scheme going at one time. It was a mix of Cherry Bomb/Atomic Pink/Deep Purple (and I think some Fishbowl). It was rad.

I have an appointment (kind of important) tomorrow, but then I can pretty much do anything I want (within reason). I like the burgundy, but it's kind of plain and beginning to bother me a bit.

My hair now - it's a bit longer and I've been parting it to create bangs...

The funky Atomic Pink/Deep Purple/Cherry Bomb hairdo...

Hey. This isn't really a "funky" color but i think it might look cool.
What if you bleached out little streaks, or in your case spikes since your hair is so short, to like a blondish, or maybe even toning it to a white. I think it'll make the burgandy stand out even more.

If not I think your best bet would be the purple, because the other two are reds and won't stand out as much in my opinion?

But thats just my idea.

Got any blue lying around? Some electric blue would look great with maybe a few atomic pink streaks within the blue as well as the burgundy you already have.

Suggest a highlighting cap and pulling about 1/3 of the hair through the cap. Pul more hair through the front and bang area of the cap then the rest of the head to jazz it up. Then apply the purple to the hairs sticking though the cap is a suggestion. thanks for the other picture of the mix of blue, purple, red, and pink, nice mix of colors.

Good suggestions. I do like the burgundy...I'm thinking about keeping it for a while. Might just do the purple. I wish I would have bought blue when I bought color! I had my heart set on Virgin Rose (never tried it yet) or Atomic Pink, but they were sold out (and everything was 1/2 off!). I settled on the reds. I've used Cherry Bomb before and loved it, but Nuclear Red will be new to me.

I think blond highlights would look great. That, and the purple might look nice, but honestly, the blond would look better. I know you were going for funky, but I'd prefer blond in this case. That or yellow =DDDDD ahhh.

Btw, everyone, I used Color Fiend Shocking Bolt, and it was a yellow, and it looks like vomit-in-a-bottle, but it works SO WELL.

I was thinking about bleach bathing my hair once it got roots. Maybe I'll just bleach portions of it instead, since people seem to be making "bleach it" suggestions. Decisions, decisions, decisions.
