This is a great yellow. Honestly, I've never tried yellow before, and I got this color just because I wanted to see what the Color Fiend brand was like. Well, I got the opportunity to try it out a couple of nights ago on a friend, when I colored her hair rainbow, and it worked GREAT! Best yellow.

Do you know who makes it? Searching didn't turn up much in the way of the manufacturer's website.

Color Fiend is the new name for Stellar from Manic Panic. I recently tried the light pink and it was horrible and very very thin. Some of the colors might be good but so far all that I've seen don't last long at all.

Is Stellar/Color Fiend different than the rest of the Manic Panic hair dyes? Is it alcohol based or something? I couldn't find any reference to those in the official Manic Panic site... don't they advertise it?

Ah, ok, found an old topic in the forum about stellar dyes and gave me all the information I needed about it (that and some google searches). Though I don't understand why they'd make a new dye that's a bit worse that their existing in hopes of raising manic panic sales. It's probably all in the changing names. Altough, I think that maybe that Hot topic thing is the manufacturer and Manic Panic distributes it, though I'm not sure how those things work. Oh, well, go figure.

Ah I didn't know that. I thought I saw it for sale in some non-hot topic shops and usually they keep their own brand stuff exclusive like Raw.
I think maybe they get Manic Panic to manufacture for them so it's a private arrangement that Manic Panic wouldn't bother to advertise.

I'm really not sure. If Color Fiend really is the same as Stellar, then I have to say that they have this one blue that is absolutely HORRIBLE. I think it's like Blueberry Blue or some name like that... Their red, Rockout Red, is alright, I used it once and my friend's hair turned carrottop orange right away, but i used it again on someone else and it was fine. Their purple, Purple Passion I think? is pretty good, it's a light, bright (but not too bright) purple, kind of lilac? It looks nice, I guess.

Do they last? Or do they fade after a couple of washes?

from what i've seen, my friends yellow is still there and i did it like a week ago, so that's good. however, its blond underneath, so i mean it's not going to be THAT noticeable.

The two colors I've tried from Color Fiend (Red Rum and Fuschia Flash) were amazing! The color was beautiful and it lasts for a while (and when it fades, it just fades to a brighter version of the color, so it's still pretty).
