OK so, i dyed my hair in 2 sections, one section blue mayhem and the other fishbowl.

It had been bleached to a light blonde and washed thoroughly. The dyes went on and the blue mayhem came out PERFECT. However the fishbowl, well, it looks like month-old- sea-foam green fishbowl, I have no idea why!

Either my hair was too wet for the dye to take?
Or the dye was a little bit funny?
Or something else i can't think of...

Anyway, so now the question, how can i fix my hair?! I've got a patchy covering of green-pale-fishbowl, usually fishbowl comes out a fantastic two-tone blue colour.

Do I need to bleach out the colour before I can dye over it? Or will a darker dye cover it?
Would another bottle of fishbowl cover it maybe?

I still have 1/3rd of blue mayhem and 1/4 of fishbowl, could I maybe mix these together to cover the fishbowl on my hair?

So.. yeah, totally gone wrong! I don't know if it can be saved tonight using a mix of my remaining fishbowl and mayhem, or would the colours not mix?

Any help greatly appriciated, thanks

I've never had any problems with fishbowl but I know if there's the slightest gold tone in your hair it will look greenish. It sounds to me like it had some contributing warm tone either left over colour or it wasn't bleached enough.
It should cover ok with a darker colour. Mixing fishbowl and blue mayhem might cover it but it's hard to tell without seeing the initial colour.

Hmm, is it possible that my hair was too wet for the dye to stick properly? Thats the only expanation we have, my hair was definatly bleached enough because some spots of fishbowl came through perfectly, it even covered atomic pink!

I might have not bleached it enough to get the delicious blue colour though i guess, but I dunno, i guess we just botched it this time!

The hair is still really light (you can still see bare bleached sections!) so i'll go over it with blue mayhem tonight. I'm REALLY pleased with the colour of blue mayhem, its soooo close to being purple, it really is fantastic.

Will put pics up of botched + fixed hair when my PC works :)

Cheers for the help Jude :)

This happened to me before. I think the problem is that fishbowl doesnt work as well right after bleaching. next time i would wait a day to let your hair settle(?) and then put the fishbowl on slightly damp hair.

Be very open and honest with who and what you are. If people still like you, fine, if not, that's their problem.

I'd say that it would be best to even out the fishbowl color, and then go over the section with the blue mayham. There'll be a shade difference, but it'll probably still look better than now, if not really cool.
