i have a problem at school at the moment due to my hair. its currently about 5cm below my shoulder and as many of you know i dye it black but i have not done so since last august leaving approx 7cm of blond regrowth on the top. might also wnat to mention that i'm a bloke with long hair

now my problem is that people are constantly going on at me all day to cut my hair or dye my hair. its incredibly frustrating as its my choice as how to have my hair. they also continually threaten to cut it off on either of our school trips to barcelona nd ghana, and what scares me most is that its not an empty threat, they would really do it

anybody else had the same problem??

Next concert: Hamburg - Apocalyptica (again) - 2nd of July

I don't know what the law is in Germany but in the UK if someone cuts your hair like that it's actually assault. If it's the case there maybe you should remind them of that.
I left school quite a few years ago now so it's not a problem for me but I would suggest that you react as little as possible and they'll get bored and move on.

wowie. Umm how bout this. Bring an electric razor on the trip, and if they end up cutting your hair shave a inside out mohawk on them while they're sleeping. (when you shave a line down the middle of thier head)
Boy or Girl teach them a lesson. They mess with your hair, you mess with thiers.

I'm assuming you mean classmates (teenagers) and not adults. I got a fair amount of teasing in school, but it wasn't about my hair. If I'd have been any more different than I was, it would have been much worse, though. I think people assume girls will do funky stuff to their hair, but that if a guy does these same (or similiar) things, something is wrong with him and consequently tease him.

My advice is that high school passes quickly. Don't do anything to get into trouble with your school, but don't back down from bullies. If it gets really bad, or you think someone is going to hurt you (or chop off your hair, which IS assault), let an adult know about it.

I stood up to quite a few bullies in my day. I'll admit to resorting to physical violence a few times, but don't recommend it, as it can get you into serious trouble. As a girl, people tended to take my side of things, especially when the bully was a male. I slapped a bully in front of my whole class my Junior year and didn't even get spoken to about it!

Don't change your hair for anyone who has no authority over you. When it's your parents, the school, work, there is a legitimate reason to comply, but don't be pushed around by people your own age. Just be safe. Hopefully these kids are full of hot air.
