If I were a normal person I would just go to Sally's and ask my various hair questions to a person who hopefully knew what they were talking about, but unfortunately I have stupid anxiety problems and can't manage to bring myself to get the help I need face-to-face. So, I'm reaching out to anyone who might be able to answer my questions on here. =]

About three weeks ago one of my friends bleached my bangs and dyed them a combination of purple and teal.

The colors are beginning to fade out now, but I'd like to try new colors as soon as possible. I'm going to do electric lizard and atomic turquoise from Manic Panic. I already have the dyes.

My question is, would it be damage my hair if I rebleached it? My hair grows fast, so I already have roots. I wanted to bleach both my roots and the rest of my bangs, so that I can get the old colors out and put the new ones in.

If it wouldn't be horribly damaging, what type of bleach should I use? My natural hair color is a dark brown. As specific as possible would be great, because I really don't know much about bleach. If you could give me brand names, I would be very grateful.

How faded are the other colours?
I find when I do my roots the bleach rinsing through takes out a lot of the colour so if it leaves it a pastel shade you can dye over it without having to rebleach.

As for brands I'm not sure what you have nearby. I'd suggest buying a kit for dark hair or one that says it contains 30 volume peroxide. Maybe you could ask your friends what they used.

Further bleaching to the already bleached hair will cause damage but to get those colours out it won't need as much bleaching as the roots so if you apply bleach to the regrowth and then, if necessary, apply it to the coloured hair for the last five minutes of the bleaching to lift the colour.

Hope it goes well for you.

I've heard Wella bleach is good and I think you can find it just about everywhere.

I have really light hair and I recently dyed it blue, but now it has turned that grey/green/blue colour you can get after a while. I want to dye it yellow next, but I know the yellow will mix with the blue and make it some sort of skanky green, so I'm thinking of bleaching it. What sort of advice would you give me?
    Cheers!

Okay well never mind. I bleached it.
However, the yellow has come out weirdly dark in like the middle of the back of my head. I also keep trying to dye the front of my hair black and it keeps going this weird maroonypurple colour. I liked it when it first happened but I really want black now and the yellow with it makes me look like an ad for cadbury's. So yeah, WHY IS THIS HAPPENING? I looked through all the forums and couldn't find anyone else having the same problem. I've tried two different dyes: Directions and Stargazer, and I'm planning on getting a more mainstream one like Loreal or whatever, but I don't want to fork out the money if it's going to do the same thing...

[EDIT: Putting this in its own topic]

Strange, I always get a true color.

    I died over

Blue when I had red hair
Red when I had blue hair
Green when I had red hair.

Always came out fine...Guess im lucky...
