Well, my roots were about 1/2" long and the Cherry Bomb wasn't really covering them! I got my hair cut last weekend and there was a definite difference between the back of my hair where it's shorter and the top.
I decided to get rid of the roots by bleaching them. I've got a possible job interview coming up, so while I don't necessarily want to go "normal", I don't want to spend a bunch of time and money doing something like a bright red, only to cover it up right away!
I left Basic White bleach and 30 volume white developer (Salon Care - Sally's house brand) on for about an hour. The result is light yellow (not toned at all) roots and sherbert orange colored ends. I actually like it and will be keeping it at least until I find out about the interview. At that point, I may be going a bit "normal" for a while, probably a dark blonde or a coppery color. Otherwise, I'll probably do blonde and SFX cherry bomb or SFX nuclear red.
