If your hair is in good enough shape, I'd just say get an ash blonde permenant dye that's a shade or two lighter than your current colour. To really cut through the red, try UnRed or Anti-Brass hair colour additives (available in little pouches at Sally's for a dollar or so). If you do have a Sally's or other hair supply store around, I'd reccomend getting the dye from there, as you can then use 30 vol. developer instead of 40 vol (what generally comes in box dyes). It'll help save your hair a bit.
