Heya,

A friend and I both have bleached out and damaged hair. her was bleached twice in the span of a month with 30 activator, mine just got unnaturally fried when a chemical reaction went off in my hair for some reason.

Needless to say our hair is in various states of weakness and wreckage. Thing is, we're in the states, and we'd prefer not to order it online. Does anyone know some good (but inexpensive) conditioners that can do wonders for our hair?

I've seen Tresemme Revitalizing, which is about 7 bucks for 32 oz. Honestly my friend and I could probably split that and be happy. I've also seen Tremsemme's deep conditioning masque, which is 3-5...L...monetary unit things. (Are those pounds? I need to branch out more :S) There's no word on how many oz per this cost, though, or if it's in the states.

Anyone else have any suggestions, and any idea what might be here in the US?

When in doubt, use ethnic supplies. Walgreens in most areas have a small section of ethnic products. I use Motions Shampoo and Conditioner. I believe they have a deep conditioner.

If not, there is Bioinfusion Hydrating deep conditioner (also Walgreens). That has olive oil in it, and it soothes the hair from dryness and damage. Its about 7-8 dollars, but they run sales on it buy one get one 50% off sometimes..

If you want inexpensive deep conditioner Queen Helene Deep Conditioner its like 4 dollars, also found most drug and department stores.

Tresemme is supposed to be pretty good, I actually want to try it sometime.
I've used Aussie 3 Minute Miracle and Neutrogena Triple Moisture, both are pretty decent.
Queen Helene Cholesterol works well too but I found it left my hair greasy after awhile.

"Queen Helene Cholesterol"? Weird name for a shampoo. I don't want to think of why they named it that.

Yeah someone else mentioned it on here and I was intrigued to try it.
The smell kind of got to me after awhile though haha.
Definitely a weird product but it worked rather well.

I had that once. It was freaky. I felt like I was rubbing margarine all over my hair. I couldn't get past the idea of cholesterol so I threw it out after one or two uses. I wasn't especially impressed by the conditioning power of it. I think you might get better results with olive oil or avocado, but that's just my experience. Lots of people swear by it.

Olive oil or avacado oil? Hmm. I'll remember that.

I think I'll go down to the campus drugstore today and see what products they have that seem promising. I can buy things with my school debit card there (bonus; I won 20 dollars of the school debit money last week in a spelling bee :P) so price won't matter quite as much.

Mayonnaise is also good apart from the fact that you have to rinse it out in cool water (and it smells a bit). Egg is good for making your hair shiny and oil makes it silky so it makes sense that mayonnaise should work

As for the cholesterol, I can't remember whether it actually has it in there or if it was the fact that it reminded me of the leftovers from liposuction that made me stop using it. Anyone got a tub to check the ingredients?

My hair was beyond stretchy about a month ago....totally fried the bloody hell out of it. I used Aussie 3 Minute Miracle everyother day for about a week and a half, then used a conditioning dye [just wal-mart colour] and my hair was great. It might not have been perfectly healthy...but at least it looked and felt good.

I suggest if you want to stay blonde, bye a blonde dye. Believe it or not, it'll probably help your hair rather than harm it more. Plus the conditioner you get in the boxed dye is always a plus. If you're hair is really that bad...you should probably let it recooperate for a while.

    ...happy dying...
