Well, I live in California so you can drive all over and find a ton of tourist attractions. Beach to big cities to the desert to the mountains we've got everything.

I live in the mountains in a hokey little town about a two hour drive from LA. We got all of LA's rejects and retired folks. Also middle class families who can't afford housing in the city!

Up here there's a ton of beautiful places to see. Right outside of town you can go camping, dirt bike riding, hiking, all that naturey stuff.
Depending on the community (there are a few) it is pretty nice. The ones closer to the freeway are junkier. The ones further into the mountains (where I live) are actual communities so we have some ammenities like a club and pool.
If you stay in town theres basically 3 restaurants, a bar, a coffee shop, and a store. The bar is open 24/7 and yes there are always drunks there. They rise early and probably sleep there.
Around town, you'll see a bunch of teenagers probably messed up on drugs or drunk because they can't find anything better to do. They have crazy colored hair, but they aren't friendly or pleasant to be around. They smell bad and cuss too much. So you'd want to just stay out of town.

In may we have something called the Lilac Festival. Just a bunch of little booths open where you can buy stuff.
In july there is an antique car show. Little, but fun.
In august there is Fiesta Days. Same concept, but it is in a different place and they have rides like a ferris wheel, giant slide, bumper cars etc.
In September there is the Oktober Fest= Beer fest

I have always sort of had a love/hate relationship here in Milwaukee. I hate how the city sort of is stuck in the dark ages, but mostly it's safe & nice.

We're moving forward and there are a ton of things to do here. If you're ever here, for any reason...send me a message. I'll hip you to what's hip (or at least fun).

I live in Athens, Greece, lots of interesting stuff to see and do here.

First of all dozens of archaeological sites with the Acropolis the most famous one. The National Archaeological Museum at the center of Athens has exibits from all stages of the Greek civilization and is very interesting.

Being the capital of Greece, there's just about anything you want here. From traditional fish taverns by the coastline to trendy cafes and goth clubs. I live at the center of Athens where most metalheads, punks and others hang out so it's full of rock/metal cafes/clubs, goth clubs, as well as many mainstream places. Revenge of Rock is a nice rock/metal club near where I live.

There are also many graphic places like Plaka under the Acropolis which is very nice, but may be a bit overpriced since it's a tourist area. And there are many shopping districts, usually for a different budget according to the area they are.

Hmm it's very late right now and I can't think of any more at the moment. ^_^

Well my hometown is East Lansing, MI - which is the home of Michigan State University. So there is a lot of fun stuff. Its also the suburb of the captial, Lansing. So again, good stuff because of tat.

There are GREAT museums (IMO) both big and small. Mostly about regional or local history, but its cool stuff.

good resturants.

good art fesitvals in the summer.

i duno lots of stuff - again message me if you're ever in town :P

Now I live about 80 minutes away towards Detroit (but still way outside it) in a place called Westland. Nothing much to do here. But there are nicer areas surrounding it, that have nice fun downtowns.

well concerning anything to do on a friday or saturday night, i live in a hellhole -Bucyrus, Ohio-. Its pretty sad that on weekends all me and my friends have to do is go hang out and walk around Walmart and occaisonally try to get kicked out. and for the lucky people that can drive, you can go to mansfield which has a mall and a bunch of resteraunts(about 20 minutes away).

otherwise, my town is actually really pretty.good for walks and stuff
its also got these 2 amazing murals uptown. (1 is of our town in the like early 1900s and the other is of veterans who died in war, which my grandpa happens to be on.)
and i guess for all the history buffs its pretty interesting. Theres like underground tunnels and stuff originating from a bar (the Crazy Fox) that Al Capone used to hide in back in the gangster days.
And were like the "bratwurst capital of the United States" or something like that. we have a 3 day festival for it every August.

Okay I finally have time to reply to this...
If you're really into multi-cultural food, Toronto is the place to go.
There are so many restaurants here that it would take a lifetime to eat at all of them.
A place that sells Japanese and Chinese food opened up across the street from my apartment building a couple of months ago.
They probably have some of the best sushi I've ever eaten.
Best of all, there's a pick-up special where you get 18 pieces of sushi and some miso soup for only $6.
The whole city in general is huge, it would take a long time to explore it all.
But there's always something going on here.
I get off work around midnight and you wouldn't believe how many people are out as if it's just the middle of the afternoon.

Haha, I totally agree. There are a few places popping up that I absolutely adore, but when I was growing up there was really no reason to do anything in Milwaukee.
The hookah bar on Locust (I forget the cross street) is a cherished favorite. They never card so we bring in friends of all ages to smoke in a really chill atmosphere. The hookah's always top notch, except for grape, which is awful. They have hookah displays, a comfy couch, and food and drinks too, but its very small, so on weekends it can get pretty cramped. I've bought 3 hookahs from there and they've never failed me. Whenever I'm back home we always make at least 1 trip there.

It's in Bayview near Cactus Club - 2491 S Superior Street. Here their MySpace -http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=205931270.

If you are familiar with Fuel & Comet Cafes, the same owners have their hands in this one. It used to be a dive bar called Nellie's and they pretty much just slapped up really cool artwork on the walls, started serving better beer and food, and voila...a star is born. It's kind of like going to an "up north" bar that happens to be completely taken over by the hipster, indie crowd.

I think the hookah place is called "2 Sweet"...am I right? I've never been there. I like the east side and Riverwest a lot.

man you guys have tons of stuff to do.:(
if you dont have money there is absoutley nothing to do.
we have a bunch of pine trees. and apparently deadwood is supposed to have haunted places, the mall is really small, and everyone who has money at all leaves for the summer.

Be very open and honest with who and what you are. If people still like you, fine, if not, that's their problem.
